40-Hour Certificated Mediation and Conflict Transformation Training with a focus on Workplace Conflict & Disputes is lead by master trainer Louise Phipps Senft and the Baltimore Mediation team. This nationally recognized course provides the tools and theory critical in transforming conflict in the workplace and navigating difficult conversations with the help of a neutral third-party mediator. This training uniquely features an emphasis on EEOC protocol, mandated mediations, informal mediations, workplace and employee laws and statutes, and formal and informal complaints, and everyday workplace conflict.
This is a nationally certificated 40-hour mediation training, part of Baltimore Mediation’s Core Curricula designed to teach you everything you need to know to start mediating, either professionally or for daily use and practice. We’ll focus on mediation, conflict transformation and resolution, Relational conflict theory and skills, personality and motivation awareness for the mediator, with an emphasis on fostering self-awareness to reduce personal reactivity, as well as Relational reflection and non-transactional listening and intervention techniques to facilitate communication, breakthroughs and quality decision making.

- Mastering and Understanding of Oneself as the Conflict Intervener
- Understanding the Motivations of Personality Working with the Enneagram
- Mastering the Skills of the “little m” mediator for Everyday Conflict Management
- Understanding the workplace mediation process and mediator’s role
- Understanding the protocol for how mediation works with EEOC and inhouse programs
- Understanding labor law and EEO Programs for informal and formal complaints
- Hands-on skills for everyday workplace conflict and conflict transformation how-to
- The Maryland Circuit Courts
- The United States government and all federal agency rosters
- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
- The Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
- The Maryland State Board of Education
- Most other states which have 20, 40 or 60 hour mediation training requirements.
