We’ll focus on mediation\, conflict transformation and resolution theory and skills\, with an emphasis on fostering self-awareness to reduce personal reactivity\, as well as reflection and active listening techniques to facilitate communication. The course emphasizes the following: \n\nUnderstanding the Theory and Practice of Mediation\, as Mediators\nSelf-Awareness Inventory and Development\nConflict Intervention Skills Necessary to Mediate\nCommunication Skills and Transformation “How-To’s”\nIndividual Feedback from Trainers\, addressing Participants’ Specific Strengths and Areas for Improvement\nMastering and Understanding of Oneself as the Conflict Intervener\nUnderstanding the Motivations of Personality in Conflict\nWorking with the Enneagram Personality Typology and Reducing Personal Reactivity\nWorking Effectively with Counsel and Other Representatives\nMastering the Skills of  the “little m” mediator for Everyday Conflict Management\nUnderstanding the transformative mediation process and mediator’s role\nHands-on skills for conflict and conflict transformation how-to\n\nWhat’s Included: A 40-hour certificated course held over a period of five consecutive days (Monday\, Tuesday\, Wednesday\, Thursday\, and Friday)\, training manual and materials. \nA certificate noting 40 hours of attendance will be provided at the end of training. It may be used to apply for state circuit court rosters of approved mediators and for continuing education credits from the participant’s accrediting institution. \nThis training is approved by and/or a certificate of successful completion of this training may be used to satisfy the requirements of the following: \n\nThe Maryland Circuit Courts\nThe United States government and all federal agency rosters\nThe Equal Employment Opportunity Commission\nThe Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners\nMost other states which have 20\, 40 or 60 hour mediation training requirements.\n\nCancellation Policy: Participants may cancel their registration at least 15 business days prior to the start date of the training to be entitled to a full refund.
