We’ll focus on mediation\, conflict transformation and resolution theory and skills\, taking plenty of time over the five day training to instruct\, discuss and reinforce the fundamental mediator skills and responsibilities\, supported by group work\, role-plays and directed feedback from trained mediators. Particular emphasis is placed on legal implications of mediation\, adherence to state and federal laws\, as well as the mediator code of ethics. The course emphasizes the following: \n\nUnderstanding the mediation process and mediator’s role\nHands-on skills necessary to mediate for others\nCommunication skills and conflict transformation how-to’s\nLegal and ethical standards of practice and dilemmas\nWorking with attorneys and other third parties\nIndividual feedback from trainers addressing participants’ specific strengths and areas for improvement\n\nDates: Monday through Friday\, February 23 – February 27 (9 am – 5:00 pm every day)\, 2015 \nTrainers: Louise Phipps Senft\, Esq. \nWhat’s Included: 40-hour certificated course held over a period of\nfive consecutive days\, training manual and materials. \nFor more information\, call Baltimore Mediation\, 443-524-0833.
