We’ll focus on mediation\, conflict transformation and resolution theory and skills\, taking plenty of time over the five day training to instruct\, discuss and reinforce the fundamental mediator skills and responsibilities\, supported by group work\, role-plays and directed feedback from trained mediators. The course emphasizes the following: \n\nUnderstanding theory and practice as mediators\, shapers of policy\, academics\, and people: the mediation process and your own type and style\nBringing Clients to the Table\nDealing with Strong Emotions\nWorking with and through Impasse\nFostering Communication\nIdentifying Empowerment and Recognition Opportunities\nSelf-Awareness Inventory & Development\nHands-on conflict intervention skills necessary to mediate\nMediator Standards of Practice and Ethics\nIndividual feedback from trainers addressing participants’\nspecific strengths and areas for continued development and excellence.\n\nDates: Monday through Friday\, December 15-19\, 2014 (every day from 9 am – 5:00 pm) \nTrainers: Louise Phipps Senft\, Esq. \nCourse Fee: $1450 \nWhat’s Included: 40-hour certificated courses held over a period of five consecutive days (Monday\, Tuesday\, Wednesday\, Thursday\, and Friday)\, training manual and materials. \nFor more information\, call Baltimore Mediation\, 443-524-0833.
