Transformative Mediator ™ certification preparation and continuing
development for advanced mediators practicing within the transformative
framework
Baltimore Mediation is pleased to announce its newest offering for the
professional development of mediators: the Baltimore Mediation
Practitioners’ Institute. The Institute will provide an
intensive experience for a small group of selected mediators interested
in preparing for Transformative Mediator ™ certification and furthering
their skills and advancing their practice. Each session of the Practitioners’
Institute provides a transformative approach for on-going professional
and personal development with a Master Practitioner in a focused, supportive
environment.
ACCEPTING: Now accepting applications for mediators with a minimum 60-80 hours of training
who are interested in live observation, being observed and video-taped
in actual practice and engaging in focused mentor-style assessment and
dialogue to prepare for Transformative Mediator ™ certification
and to enhance personal growth and mediator development and competence.
Baltimore Mediation accepts only 5-6 mediators for each intensive 10
hour PI Session. Cost is $850.

Practitioners’ Institute
Offering:
- Focus on the Transformative Approach: Premises and Practices:
further understanding the mediator’s role and goals, recognizing
empowerment and recognition opportunities, responding with appropriate
skills to foster conflict shifts, assisting the mediator with
staying on track with chosen orientation to practice
- Observation of live mediations from beginning to end of session(s)
with follow-up processing, highlighting opportunities for decision
making and perspective taking.
- Observation, instruction, and processing videotaped mediations.
- Opportunities for participants to solo mediate or co-mediate
and receive specific feedback and supervision from Louise Phipps
Senft and other experienced mediators.
- Feedback from mediation clients.
Opportunities for participants to get clearer about their own
style, self-awareness tools and development of their inner observer.
- Discussion of mediator’s standards of practice within
a transformative framework.
- Creation of 30 minute video tape of actual performance, to be
used if so chosen for submission for Transformative Mediator ™
certification.
- Opportunities for self assessment of competency.

- Small group format, maximum 6 participants.
- On-site at Baltimore Mediation facilities in Baltimore, Maryland.
- 1-day 10-hour intensive development and feedback session.
- Videotape production for Transformative Mediator ™ certification.
- 3 Months of monthly coaching follow-on sessions available to Practitioners’
Institute graduates.

later than TBA 2010 to Baltimore Mediation, 4502 Schenley Road,
Baltimore, Maryland 21210-2524. Thereafter, call for availability. Limited
enrollment. Your $850 check should be made payable to Baltimore Mediation.
Credit cards accepted. Cancellations must be received in writing by TBA 2010 for a full refund of payment (less $25 processing charge) and
to allow for others on a waiting list to attend.
This intensive training experience is approved by and/or a certificate
of successful completion of this training may be used to satisfy the requirements
of the following:
The Maryland Circuit Courts
The United States government and all federal agency rosters
The Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation
Most other states which have basic 20, 40 or 60 hour mediation training
requirements.
