40 HOUR FUNDAMENTAL MEDIATION SKILLS TRAINING
Annually, BALTIMORE
MEDIATION offers three separate and different basic trainings,
all of which can be taken in any order and combination
to satisfy the equivalent of 40, 60 or 80

40 Hour Fundamental Mediation and Conflict Transformation Skills Training
| Description: |
This is a 40-hour mediation and conflict transformation
and resolution theory and skills course, with certification for circuit
court mediators and for daily use and practice. The course emphasizes
the following:
- Understanding theory and practice as mediators, shapers of policy, academics, and people: the mediation process and your own type and style
- Bringing Clients to the Table
- Dealing with Strong Emotions
- Working with and through Impasse
- Fostering Communication
- Identifying Empowerment and Recognition Opportunities
- Self-Awareness Inventory & Development
- Hands-on conflict intervention skills necessary to mediate
- Mediator Standards of Practice and Ethics
- Individual feedback from trainers addressing participants’
specific strengths and areas for continued development and excellence.

and on a first-come, first serve basis. To guarantee your reservation,
Reservation Form and payment must be received by November 13, 2010. Thereafter,
call for availability. Checks may be made payable to Baltimore Mediation.

A certificate noting 40 hours of attendance will be provided at the end
of training. It may be used to apply for state circuit court rosters of
approved mediators and for continuing education credits from the participant's
accrediting institution.
This training is approved by and/or a certificate of successful completion
of this training may be used to satisfy the requirements of:
The Maryland Circuit Courts
The United States government and all federal agency rosters
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
The Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
Most other states which have basic 20, 40 or 60 hour mediation training
requirements.
