Advanced Mediation Training: Training for Managers, In-house Mediation and Human Resources Professionals and Counselors in Government Agencies, Corporations, NonProfits, and other Organizations

Description: The focus of the 20 hour Workplace Mediation Training is on:
  • Understanding the workplace mediation process and mediator’s role
  • Understanding the protocol for how mediation works with EEOC and inhouse programs
  • Understanding labor law and EEO Programs for informal and formal complaints
  • Understanding the special aspects of confidentiality in workplace mediation
  • Hands-on skills for workplace conflict and conflict transformation how-to’s
  • Individual feedback from trainers addressing participants’ consideration: specific strengths and areas for betterment
  • Certification for private and circuit court mediators and for daily use and practice

To register, go to Mediation Training Reservation Form, or call Baltimore Mediation, 443-524-0833. Enrollment is limited and on a first-come, first serve basis. To guarantee your reservation, Reservation Form and payment must be received by February 21, 2012. Thereafter, call for availability. Checks may be made payable to Baltimore Mediation. Credit card payments may be made by calling Baltimore Mediation, 443-524-0833. Cancellations must be received by fifteen days before the start of training for a full refund of payment and to allow for others on a waiting list to attend.

A certificate noting 20 hours of attendance will be provided at the end of training. It may be used for continuing education for state circuit court rosters of approved mediators and for continuing education credits from the participant's accrediting institution.

This training is approved by and/or a certificate of successful completion of this training may be used to satisfy the requirements of the following:

The Maryland Circuit Courts
The United States government and all federal agency rosters
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
The Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
Most other states which have basic 20, 40 or 60 hour mediation training requirements.

NEW OPPORTUNITY! 8 HOUR ADVANCED CONFLICT MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP FOR EXECUTIVES

Baltimore Mediation in collaboration with and sponsored by the Community Mediation Center of St. Mary's County, is pleased to invite you to attend a 8-hour workshop designed specifically for professionals in executive positions. This workshop is created to address managers' needs to improve the conflict dynamic in their workplace and strengthen workplace relations. 

The trainer, Louise Phipps Senft, will focus on:
  • Exploring conflict theory and personal experiences of conflict
  • Building better work teams through improved conflict intervention skills
  • Transforming difficult conversations in growth opportunities
  • Reducing personal reactivity and enhancing self-awareness
This interactive workshop will be offered Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 8:30 am to 5 pm at So. Md. Higher Education Center on Airport Road in California, MD.
